Therapy is a journey into the soul -- a way to reach in, explore it's terrain and carry what we discover back into our everyday lives. To facilitate this exploration I use traditional psychotherapy as well as art therapy in my work with children, adolescents and adults. Through the creative process of art-making, a person of any age and with no art experience can foster a relationship with his/her own deep images which can promote profound transformation and healing. |

It's not always easy for people talk about what is really going on for them, especially if they are very young, or have experienced a trauma or devastating loss. Creative self expression in a safe and warm environment allows my clients to draw on their own innate resources for healing. I have extensive experience as an Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor supporting families, children, teens and adults as they overcome life's challenges. My specialty areas include concerns related to divorce, separation, blended families, trauma, loss, as well as child and adolescent mood and behavior. I also am available to new graduates as a resource for supervision for the LPC or ATR credential. Please feel free to contact me with questions or comments. I offer a free consultation to individuals or families who are interested in working with me. My office is located in downtown Denver and I accept a variety of insurance plans. |

Welcome! My orientation as an art psychotherapist is based on a strong belief in the healing power of the creative process. The art itself is used to guide the therapy. My approach is based in intuition & spirituality. My style is nurturing and compassionate. I am relaxed & love supporting people as they explore themselves within, and as they make changes in a gentle way. I seek to remain present in the moment with my clients at all times, guiding what I say and do according to their needs and clues. I feel that the practice of psychotherapy is a way to help one person at a time, a way for me to help make a difference in our world. As I grow into the third season of my life, I feel that I am more calm, patient with myself and others, and able to listen deeply. An area of specialization for me is Bereavement Art Therapy, which I have trained in with children particularly. This segues into work with Transitions in general: loss and change, grief and major life transitions of any sort. I also work with depression, anxiety, aging issues, chemical dependency, women's issues, spiritual growth. I have extensive experience working with all mental illnesses, having been the art therapist for a hospital psychiatric unit for many years. Now I work primarily with children and with adults seeking to grow more whole in their lives, with occasional grief groups. I also work with people who are seeking to open to their own creativity, expand into their artistic natures without judgment and with joy. |

I have 20 years of experience working with children and adults. Areas of expertise include: children who have suffered a traumatic event or loss, adult survivors, women's issues, infertility and life transitions. Art therapy is the use of art in the psychotherapy process; art making accesses unconscious strengths and conflict, bringing both to bear in the therapy session. Image making does not require artistic skill or ability. Art therapy assessments and evaluations are an integral part of my work. I am available for art therapy consultation in both the legal and psychotherapy settings. I provide LPC and ATR/BC Supvervision, and, supervision for the development of sound clinical practice. |
